1) Disconnect battery
2) Remove lower dash cover by knees (couple of screws and a couple of clips that you pull out on the little circle to remove)
3) Remove lower cover of column (two clips that you push in the little center circle then pull the rest of the attachments loose)
4) Use a star bit from the back of the wheel to unscrew the airbag/horn/radio controls then disconnect two plastic wire connectors
5) Remove nut in the middle of the steering wheel (it will be on tight, standard thread - Lefty loosey)
6) Before you pull the wheel off be sure to MARK IT so you know exactly which tooth it slides back on, otherwise you are going to have the wheel turned a bit when you are going straight. I just used a sharpie to draw a couple lines that I could match up.
7) Pull off the wheel
8) Remove the philips head screw from the top of the column cover (you don't need to undo the flex part attaching it to the dash because you only need to be able to lift it a little.
9) Remove 4 star head screws from plastic collar
10) You can now slide the collar forward and pull the turn switch out the back and disconnect the plastic wire connector
At this point, you either need to open the switch and clean the contacts with some electrical contact cleaner (comes as an aresol spray) or you can put in a new switch (found online at several places for $124 w/free shipping). Then reverse the process and you have removed the gremlin.
If you clean your switch, be sure to get everything back exactly the way it was. I missed getting the high beam hooked up correctly the first and second time that I tried it so now I am basically an expert and tearing the column apart.
Also, be sure you have the airbag hooked up PRIOR to hooking the battery back up. I learned that from another post that gave the advice that if you did not follow that process, your airbag light would come on and would have to be reset by the dealer.
